Installation Guide

Before You Begin

  • Close your DAW before installing
  • Download the correct zip file for your operating system from endoftheworldplugins.com
  • Unzip the downloaded file before copying

macOS

The macOS download contains three plugin formats: AU, VST3, and CLAP.

AU (Audio Units)

Copy the .component file to:

~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/

VST3

Copy the .vst3 bundle to:

~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/

CLAP

Copy the .clap file to:

~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/CLAP/

Opening for the first time (Gatekeeper)

If macOS shows a warning that the plugin “cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified,” do the following:

  1. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security
  2. Scroll down to the Security section
  3. Click Open Anyway next to the plugin name
  4. Confirm by clicking Open in the dialog that appears

This only needs to be done once per plugin.

Windows

The Windows download contains VST3 and CLAP formats.

VST3

Copy the .vst3 folder to:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\

CLAP

Copy the .clap file to:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\CLAP\

Linux

The Linux download contains VST3 and CLAP formats.

VST3

Copy the .vst3 folder to:

~/.vst3/

Or system-wide:

/usr/lib/vst3/

CLAP

Copy the .clap file to:

~/.clap/

Or system-wide:

/usr/lib/clap/

After Installing

  1. Open your DAW
  2. Rescan your plugin folders (check your DAW’s preferences for a “Rescan” or “Refresh” option)
  3. Search for the plugin by name

Common DAW rescan locations

  • REAPER: Options → Preferences → Plug-ins → VST → Re-scan
  • Ableton Live: Preferences → Plug-ins → Rescan
  • Logic Pro: Restart Logic — AU plugins are rescanned automatically
  • Cubase/Nuendo: Studio → Studio Setup → VST Plug-ins → Update
  • Bitwig: Settings → Plug-ins → Rescan

Activating Your License (Cocteau Verb)

Cocteau Verb includes a 30-day free trial. To activate a purchased license:

  1. Open Cocteau Verb in your DAW
  2. When the license overlay appears, enter your license key in the field provided
  3. Click Activate
  4. The overlay will dismiss and the plugin is fully unlocked

Your license key was emailed to you at the address used for purchase. If you can’t find it, check your spam folder or contact support@endoftheworldplugins.com.

Transferring Your License

To transfer your Cocteau Verb license to a new computer or email address, contact support@endoftheworldplugins.com with your original purchase email and the new email address. Transfers are free and processed within 1–2 business days.

Troubleshooting

Plugin not appearing in DAW after install

  • Make sure you copied the plugin to the correct folder for your DAW and format
  • Rescan plugins in your DAW preferences
  • Restart your DAW

macOS Gatekeeper warning

  • See the “Opening for the first time” section above

License activation fails

  • Check your internet connection — activation requires a one-time connection to our server
  • Make sure you’re entering the key exactly as it appears in your email (dashes included)
  • Contact support@endoftheworldplugins.com if the problem persists

Audio dropouts or crashes

  • Try a higher buffer size in your DAW’s audio settings
  • Make sure you’re running the latest version of the plugin
